Before I get into this, we're all okay. Mostly some bumps and bruises. Theresa's eye is swollen from impact. But she's looking to be okay.
We went to drop Allyssa, Thersa's niece, off at home after she came to spend the afternoon with us. We got her home safely and were on our way back. We were maybe a mile or two from home and were just listening to PGSM music, you know just jamming out. Now the way this road is set up is there are two lanes on both sides of the road and a middle lane for turning. So five lanes total. We were in the left lane, next to that turn lane, because the right lane turns into a turn lane for the light maybe 20 feet from where we were hit. The guy had had three beers and took an Ambien before driving. He came into the turning lane. Violet tried to slow down and veer over. I looked over from the window and saw him veering over. All I heard was Theresa and Violet. "What is he doing?" And then I felt the impact. I was not wearing my seat belt, which was actually probably a good thing in this case. I was in the back seat, passenger side, and we were struck on driver's side. Before I knew it, I was on my back across the back seat, curled up and spinning. The car spun three or so times before the second impact. The hummer that was coming up behind us, struck us. That, we think, slowed us down. It also sent us off the road, and out of harms way. After frantic searches for phones and my glasses, we all got out. Violet complained of neck and head pain, so they had to put her on a stretcher. Due to the impact of the air bag, Theresa's eye swelled up. I managed to escape with just sore muscles and maybe some bruises that will show up in a few days probably. After a few hours in the hospital, we were allowed to go home. Violet has minor cuts from the glass on her arm and back, and an abrasion and probable bruise from the seat belt. Theresa's eye is still swollen but luckily no glass or cuts in/on it. The swelling should go down fully in a day or so.
We're all just glad we got Allyssa home before it happened. Where we were hit and the force, she would have been really bad off. We're all okay though. The worst part is the memories of it. Theresa and I are of the same mind that, we're not sure if it was just because we only saw the headlights, but it looked as if he was aiming for us. That really bothers me. But we're all okay. It was just traumatic. More updates as the come along. But we're okay now.
